We have only owned Chug for about a year and never taken her on such an extended voyage. So, the preparations continue for our trip to Alaska continue. For his birthday last summer, I gave Barrie (with a great deal of help from Larry -- since he did all the final assembly of the partially restored boat) an 11' Boston Whaler to replace the inflatable dinghy that came with the boat. It will be a terrific asset for day-trips exploring our surroundings.Today Barrie and Larry worked on the lifting system for the new dinghy. With the harness nicely balanced, it is easy to lift it to the upper deck using the boom and an electric winch. To finalize the installation of "Toot", I adjusted the cover I made for it last fall. One more thing checked off the list.
